What is Raw Food Living?
Raw Food Living is consuming food in its natural state. This means uncooked fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
Heating food above 48 centigrade (117 degrees fahrenheit) will destroy active enzymes.
Why eat Raw Food?
Eating Raw Food is beneficial to the body because they contain the highest level of enzymes. Enzymes are important to the body because they feed the cells of the body, aids digestion and keeps the body in peak condition.
What happens if your diet is lacking enzymes?
A diet that is not rich in enzymes will eventually cause sickness and diseases because the body will start to draw from itself for the nutrients that are lacking in the food. Some of today’s illnesses are as a result of people eating mainly processed foods.
How easy is it to transition to Raw Food Living?
One of the easiest ways to begin is to introduce fresh green juices and smoothies into your daily diet. After that, start to include as many raw vegetables as you can. Try to have a salad with every meal.
Tip: Try to include as many different coloured vegetables as possible.
How does the body get enough protein without meat?
There are many natural sources of non-meat protein.
Green leafy vegetables eg. Spinach, kale, broccoli, seaweed
Nuts & seeds
Grains eg. Buckwheat, cous–cous,
Oats
Almond milk
How can you deal with cravings?
One of the best ways to combat any cravings is to snack on raw nuts. Over time, because your body is getting the adequate vitamins and minerals, any craving will go away naturally.
